Electrical work we do in Santa Monica

Each one links to the page that explains its price.

  1. A charger for the car. Whether it goes on a garage wall or beside the driveway, the distance from the panel and the route the cable takes decide most of what an EV charger installation costs.
  2. An older panel, or one an insurer named. A load calculation shows whether you need more capacity or only a newer panel, and that decides how big a panel upgrade is.
  3. Breakers that trip and outlets that quit. Electrical repairs start with tracing the fault to its circuit, and you hear what it is before anything gets fixed.
  4. Lighting inside and out. Near the beach, damp salt air is hard on outdoor boxes and covers, so on a lighting job we look behind the fixture too.

If you rent or own a condo in Santa Monica

Santa Monica has its houses, north of Montana and in Sunset Park, but much of the city lives in apartments and condos. That changes who has to say yes before electrical work goes ahead. A tenant needs the owner or the manager to approve it, and we can deal with them directly if you prefer.

A charger in a building garage is where this matters most. The parking space and the panel that would feed it often belong to different people, so we work out whose approval the job needs before we put a number on it.

Building managers who need an electrical contractor get the same written price a homeowner gets, and we pull the permit and book the final inspection ourselves.

From your message to the final inspection

  1. Tell us what is going on. One sentence is enough, and sending it does not book anything.
  2. We say whether photos will do. A shot of the panel label and one of the meter are often enough to price the job without a visit.
  3. If it needs a look, we come out. We find the cause and write down what it takes before any work is done.
  4. You get the price in writing. It lists what is included and what is not, and it marks the share of the cost that belongs to the utility, where there is one.
  5. We take care of the permit. We pull it and handle the utility’s paperwork. Once the work is finished we book the inspection that closes it, and the permit fee is between you and the city.

Santa Monica questions

Do you charge to come out to Santa Monica?

No. Coming out to look and giving you a price is free. You pay for the work.

Can I get a charger if I park in a shared garage?

Often, yes. It depends on where the nearest panel with spare room is and whether the building agrees to the cable run. When we reply we may ask for a photo of the space and one of the panel.

Do you work on older houses here too?

Yes. The older houses are where knob-and-tube and tired panels tend to turn up, and a rewire in one runs in stages so you can stay in the house. Our whole-house rewiring page explains the order the work goes in.

Say what is happening and we will tell you what it involves.

One sentence about what is happening will do. Sending it costs nothing and does not book a visit.
